THE NAME OF THE BEAST?
Whenever we think about the name of the beast, it is tempting to think it is focussed on a literal name. As a result, we have many people in religious circles arguing over what is the Most High’s exact name.
But there are one or two aspects of the name that we often ignore, and that is what is highlighted by “the name of the beast” in Revelation 13:17.
THE BEAST SYSTEM
Now, in the Revelation 13 prophecy, we hear of several components of the beast system.
Rev 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
Rev 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Understanding this system is what will make us understand the name of the beast. We looked into the two beasts of Revelation 13 and how they work together in this post.
But what they do, is get us to partake us of their beast system to…
- Worship the beast
- Worship the image of the beast
- Take a mark
- Take a number
THE AUTHORITY OF THE BEAST
“He causeth all…”
That means these beasts will have the authority to trick men to do these things. Them being the leaders/instigators, they themselves will not need to do these things. They will be causing people to do it.
And remember: essentially what they will be getting people to do is just so they (the people of the world) can buy and sell.
Therefore these are the people who control buying and selling in this world. These are the leaders (the bible calls them kings) and great men (rich men of the earth).
If you look at the verse below and remember the plandemic, then you just may get some more understanding in this regard.
Rev 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
The world was in darkness in the plandemic, led by the kings (leaders of the nations) and the great men (rich men) of the earth. What about the political leaders? They committed fornication (idolatry) with the rich men.
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earthhave committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earthare waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
THE NAME OF THE BEAST AND BUYING AND SELLING
So no one will be able to buy and sell if they do not have the mark of the beast nor the number of the beast’s name, nor the beast’s name.
But what about the rulers and the great men? These are the wicked people behind the scenes who are manipulating the world and reap the benefits from such manipulations.
Remember, they will not take the mark nor the number nor worship the image. They are the instigators out to deceive. They will not deceive themselves, so they will not take what they are dishing out.
So how will they buy and sell?
Welcome to the name of the beast. They have the name of the beast.
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
You see, the name refers to authority.
G3686
ὄνομα
onoma
on’-om-ah
From a presumed derivative of the base of G1097 (compare G3685); a “name” (literally or figuratively), (authority, character): – called, (+ sur-) name (-d).
Total KJV occurrences: 229
Those who have the authority of the beast are those who are working in, presiding over or in the beast system.
They will be able to buy and sell because they have the name (authority) of the beast.
This is what it means by having the name of the beast! It is those who have the authority: the leaders and their families.
It is not knowing an exact literal name.
